Jeffery L. Ross Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Jeffery L. Ross Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The Jeffery L. Ross Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. Charles and Mrs. Thelma Ross. Charles “Charlie” Ross of Front Royal, Virginia, died on April 23, 2013 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by his wife Thelma and his son Jeffery.

Mr. Ross was a retired computer technician and a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre and in the Battle of the Bulge. He named Lord Fairfax Community College, now Laurel Ridge Community College, as the beneficiary of his estate, to establish an endowed scholarship in memory of his son Jeffery. Mr. Ross wanted the scholarship to “assist deserving students, as determined on the basis of financial need, character and scholastic performance.”
