Stephen E. and Karen S. Wisecarver Endowed Scholarship
In 2017, Stephen and Karen Wisecarver established an endowed scholarship to support graduates of the Middletown Campus as they continue their academic studies at a 4-year institution. The Wisecarvers are particularly interested in supporting Laurel Ridge graduates who would like to work eventually in higher education—at a community college in particular. Steve and Karen Wisecarver are retired employees of the College, having worked at the Middletown Campus. Steve was a psychology professor and Karen was an ILL and catalog specialist for the Paul Wolk Library.
The following criteria must be met to be eligible for the Wisecarver Scholarship:
- Earned an associate degree from Laurel Ridge Community College
- Enrolled at the Middletown Campus
- Transferring to a 4-year college or university
- Must complete an application and answer these two questions (500 word maximum):

Deadline to apply is July 1, 2024
Selection and notification will be complete by July 15, 2024
The scholarship will be transferred from the Foundation to the recipient’s account with the business office of their 4-year university by October 1, once the student’s enrollment status has been verified.
