Racey Engineering Scholarship

Established by Racey Engineering in 2018, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a full or part time student enrolled in the Associate of Science Degree, Engineering Specialization, or the Associate of Applied Science, Engineering Technology program.

Racey Engineering funded this scholarship as a means to encourage aspiring engineers as they begin their education. Racey Engineering will consider hiring the student awarded the Racey Engineering Scholarship for a paid engineering internship.

Racey Engineering PLLC is a privately held, small business and hub zone engineering and surveying company, located in Luray, Virginia. Established in 2002 from the owner’s initial company arrangements dating to 1994, the company provides a very diverse and broad program of cost-effective and practical engineering and surveying services to its public and private clients throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. These services include civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, water and wastewater, construction engineering, land surveying, and construction survey (stakeout).

The scholarship may be applied toward tuition, fees and/or books and will be divided equally between fall and spring semesters. Satisfactory academic progress must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the spring semester.

The scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • Must be a full or part-time student.
  • Must maintain at least a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
  • Preference is given to a student enrolled in courses leading to an Associate of Science-Engineering Specialization. A student enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science Engineering Technology program will also be considered.
  • Student must have successfully completed with a 3.0 GPA one EGR course (EGR 120, 123, 126 or an EGR elective).
  • Racey Engineering will consider, at Racey’s sole discretion, hiring the student awarded the Racey Engineering Scholarship for a paid engineering internship.
