Foss and Margaret Smith Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2022 by Foss and Margaret Smith, a retired chemist / IT process improvement professional and IT professional respectively, who live in Warren County. Mr. and Mrs. Smith support the mission of Laurel Ridge Community College and are pleased to give a hand up to deserving students who are working hard to achieve their dream of a college education.

The scholarship award may be applied toward tuition, fees, and/or books/educational expenses and will be divided equally between two semesters. Satisfactory academic progress must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the second semester. To be eligible to receive the award for the spring semester, you must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the fall semester.

The scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:

• Must complete a scholarship application
• Must be enrolled at the Middletown Campus
• Must be a full-time or part-time student
• Must demonstrate academic merit by having and maintaining at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
• Must demonstration financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office
