Evan C. Humbert Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
In June of 2011, the College lost a beloved mathematics instructor. Evan Humbert was an inspiring teacher. In many ways, he was a quiet hero in the northern Shenandoah Valley. During Evan’s time teaching at the College, he was known for always being among the students. Whether it was teaching in the classroom, advising a student organization, or holding his office hours in the student lounge, it was evident that the students were his source of energy. These same traits held true throughout the community, where Evan was actively involved in multiple local churches and community service organizations. Evan was a devoted partner and a loving father and will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on through this fund which was established through the gifts of his family, friends, students, and colleagues, so many of whom he touched in a way that changed their lives forever.
