Rotary Club of Warrenton Scholarship
Founded on November 9, 1926, the Rotary Club of Warrenton is a service organization that leads and coordinates local and international projects. The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
- The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.
- High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
- The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life.
- The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
The $2,000 scholarship award may be applied toward tuition, fees, and/or books and will be divided equally between two semesters. Satisfactory academic progress must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the second semester. To be eligible to receive the award for the spring semester, you must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the fall semester.
The scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:
- Must complete a scholarship application
- Must have completed 12 or more credits
- Must enroll as a full- or part-time student
- Must reside in Fauquier County
- Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
- Must demonstrate need as defined by the Club
