Bob G. Sowder Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by Mr. and Mrs. Bob G. Sowder to assist students from Fauquier County in continuing their education at the College. Mr. Sowder was a director on the Educational Foundation. In December 1988, Mr. Sowder donated a building and 2.6 acres of land to the College which now houses the Fauquier Campus. He was instrumental in making the Fauquier Campus a reality. In addition, Mr. Sowder has devoted much hard work and time to the various projects of the Foundation. He is a true supporter of education and the College.

This scholarship will provide assistance, not to exceed $1,550 for tuition, fees, and books. The scholarship award will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. To be eligible to receive the award for the spring semester, you must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in the fall semester.

The scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:

• Must complete a scholarship application
• Must be a full-time student
• Must be a resident of Fauquier County
• Must demonstrate academic merit by having and maintaining at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
