Margie Harrison Practical Nursing (LPN) Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2015 by Professor Margie Harrison, RN, MSN, who retired from LFCC in May 2015 after 47 years in nursing and 12 years as a practical nursing instructor at LFCC. On July 30, 2015, Harrison participated in her final pinning ceremony for the practical nursing program.
Harrison earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1990 from LFCC and continued her education at George Mason University, earning a Master’s of Nursing degree in 2003.
Harrison taught her first practical nursing class at LFCC in 2003 at the Fauquier Campus. During her tenure, several of her student cohorts achieved a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-PN).
This scholarship may be applied toward tuition, fees, and or books and will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. To be eligible to receive the award for the spring semester, a minimum GPA of 2.0 must be earned in the fall semester.
